INFORMATION
FOR FACULTY MEMBERS REGARDING THINK-TANKS
- Any faculty member who wishes to convene a think-tank
should submit a white paper describing the proposed think-tank
to the Leadership Group of the UCLA AIDS Institute. (For
guidance on what information should be included in the
white paper, see Protocol
for Program Activity White Papers.)
- If the proposal is approved by the Leadership Group,
the faculty member who submitted the proposal, in collaboration
with Leadership Group, will determine the best time for
the meeting.
- Once the time period is determined, the faculty member
will contact the participants to determine the best date
for the event.
- After the date has been determined, the faculty member
will provide the AIDS Institute with the date, a list
of participants (which includes the complete name, title,
address, telephone and FAX numbers and an e-mail address
for each participant), and an agenda. This information
should be submitted at least 45 days before the event.
- The AIDS Institute will reserve the site for the meeting,
arrange for a catered Continental breakfast and a working
lunch, and reserve the required audio-visual equipment.
- The AIDS Institute will send a letter of invitation,
along with any reading materials selected by the organizers,
to the participants 30 days before the event. The Institute
will also maintain an RSVP list.
- The AIDS Institute will prepare an agenda (set by
the faculty host), a list of the participants, and name
tags for the meeting.
- After the think-tank is convened, the organizer
of that event should submit a brief report to the Leadership
Group, summarizing the outcome of the event and outlining
future plans in the area covered by the think-tank.
