PROTOCOL
FOR PROGRAM ACTIVITY WHITE PAPERS
Associate Directors and Program Directors
may propose Program Activities, such as conferences, workshops,
marketing or fundraising programs, and think-tanks, by
providing a white paper covering the points outlined below.
These white papers will be discussed by the Leadership
Group (and other individuals, as deemed appropriate), and
a decision will be made on the merits of the proposed activity.
In order to make the best use of resources, Program Activities
should be proposed early in the calendar year, so that
they can be approved no later than September 1st of each
year. Approved Program Activities will remain in effect
until July 1st of the following year.
Each white paper should cover all of
the following:
- Title of Program Activity
- Description and specific aims
- Rationale for the activity in relation to furthering
research at UCLA
- Organizers and key personnel
- Collaborations among Program Areas and other organizational
units within and outside of UCLA
- Role of AIDS Institute staff
- Role of Health Science Communications
- Role of Health Science Development
- Budget
- Timeline
If your Program Activity is approved,
you will be expected to submit a brief report on that activity
to the Leadership Group, summarizing the outcome of the
program and outlining future plans in the area of your
activity.
